FOGG Open Letter – September 25, 2006
Members of the Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim Club received an invitation by mail to an informational presentation by developer Simon Snellgrove to hear his 8 Washington Street proposal. The presentation is on Tuesday, October 10, 6:00pm, at the Pier One Bayside Conference Room.
We urge all FOGG supporters to attend, and let Mr. Snellgrove know that we wish to maintain our open recreational space, without having 170 luxury condos, and a large underground parking lot being built at 8 Washington.
We recently viewed Mr. Snellgrove’s newest proposal. It was well done, and smooth as silk. But the devil is in the details. He said he plans to begin construction in 2008, with a completion date in 2010, if everything is approved, and he receives the support of the community. I hope we can let him know where the FOGG supporters stand so that we don’t lose this jewel of recreational space on the waterfront.
