Open Letter November 29, 2006
Friends of Golden Gateway (FOGG) wishes to remind you that the Recreational Space Resolution (File #061493) still needs to jump a few more hurdles before it becomes a reality. Â It will be heard again by the Supervisor’s Land Use & Economic Development Committee on Wednesday, December 6, 1:00pm – Room 263 – City Hall.
Â
We once again ask our supporters to attend this hearing.
Supervisor Sophie Maxwell, who chairs this Committee, is also presenting a Resolution concerning her Eastern Neighborhoods. Â It has an element to preserve recreation space, and is very important to her and her constituents. Â We do not want to overshadow her efforts, so we are going to provide minimal testimony (3-4 persons), as the Committee members have already committed to strengthen the Recreational Space Resolution. Â It is important however, that we show strength in numbers.
If the Recreational Space Resolution passes out of Committee (and we assume it will), the next important date is Tuesday, December 12 – 11:45am – A Press Conference on the steps of City Hall.
We really need a large turnout – at least 200 of our FOGG supporters showing the press and the Supervisors how important this legislation is to us.
If you are ever going to do one really important thing to help save our Club, this is it!
Â
