FOGG is moving into new directions in our effort to save the Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim Club (GGT&SC) from the proposed high priced condominium/parking garage development, and dramatic reduction (52%) of our open recreational space.

The process of reviewing and updating the SF Port’s Waterfront Land Use Plan is just getting underway.  Thanks to 3^rd District Supervisor and Board President David Chiu, who insisted there must be a review of overall planning for the Northeast Waterfront corridor, a series of community workshops over the next 6 to 8 months to put together an updated WLUP is about to begin. Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim Club is hosting three (3) meetings with members to explain the upcoming plans for the Club concerning both the capital improvements and the new membership options.

These forums will be held in the Fitness Pavilion (Tennis & Swim side.)  Mr. Matthew Stevens, the new Western Athletic Club (WAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be there to discuss these changes and answer any questions or concerns you may have. (more…)
