FOGG Reminder – February 20, 2010
This is a reminder of the WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2010 PLANNING DEPARTMENT NORTHEAST EMBARCADERO STUDY COMMUNITY WORKSHOP at the FERRY BUILDING, 2ND FLOOR, PORT COMMISSION HEARING ROOM from 5:00-7:00pm.
The Planning Department had called this their “final” Workshop. They will offer their “recommendations and preliminary urban design guidelines for development in the study area,” before taking them to the Planning Commission.
The preponderance of the Planning Department’s urban design guidelines have focused on Seawall Lot 351 and the proposed 8 Washington Street project, to the total reduction of the present open recreational space facility (Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim Club.)
There will be an opportunity for public comment, and FOGG must have as many supporters attend as possible. While there will be other opportunities to show your support for saving the present site, we cannot sit back and let the proponents of the development control the agenda as we move through the process.
