FOGG Open Letter – July 20, 2010

These past four months of work have been exciting.  We have accomplished much as we have put together a coalition of community organizations that widened our focus and support.

This coalition has developed a comprehensive Northeast Waterfront Plan that truly represents a consensus of what the neighborhood desires.  This was done with two productive workshops led by the professional planners and architects of Asian Neighborhood Design (AND) under the guidance of Fernando Marti, and by Brad Paul, consultant and longtime community advocate.  These men have a depth of knowledge in how the system works and are highly regarded in their professions.

As always, we have the continuing legal work of our respected land use attorney, Sue Hestor, and our many volunteers without whose efforts and dedication we would not be able to reach the final process of this broad Northeast Waterfront Plan to counter the Planning Department’s limited Study.

This coordinated team of so many neighbors and interested citizens will continue to grow as we are able to reveal our proposed plans that certainly include the preservation of our Community Recreational Center (GGT&SC).

To continue these efforts there is a price to pay, and that is the financial cost of expanding our vision through the process of professional assistance. The type of creative work now being done does not come free.

We are therefore putting everyone on notice that we need your tax deductible donations and they are needed now.

FOGG and its allies have no intention of stopping now that we have the momentum, but we will need your financial help to bring our efforts to a positive conclusion.

Please send your tax deductible donation by check to PDF/FOGG, mailed to Jim Eggert, Treasurer and CPA, 550 Davis Street #46, San Francisco, CA 94111.  In writing your check, please enter on the memo line “tax deductible donation.”

Or you can donate online by clicking on the Donations to FOGG link on this website.

Every dollar counts. You must be the judge of what you can afford, but don’t sit on the sidelines while so many are counting on us to finish the job.

Thanks, and we look forward to your donations and comments.
