FOGG Alert – September 11, 2010

There is a very important meeting on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 which has a direct impact on our Community Recreation Center (GGT&SC).

On Tuesday, the SF Port Commissioners will be presented with a request for approval of the term sheet for Seawall Lot 351 (at Embarcadero and Washington Street) as part of the 8 Washington Project.  (Resolution No. 10-66).

This is the development proposed by San Francisco Waterfront Partners (Simon Snellgrove).

It is Item 10A on the Port Agenda.  FOGG will be attending.  We want to know whether the Commissioners approve the Port Staff request for approval considering our Community Coalition’s recent lawsuit against the City.

You can view the Agenda at this link: AGENDA

We ask our Supporters to attend to hear how the Commissioners decide the issue, and we hope that many of you will be there.

The Port Commission meeting will be at the Ferry Building, Port Commission Hearing Room, Second Floor.  The meeting begins at 3:15pm.  Item 10A should be heard around 4:00pm.

If the Commissioners do approve the term sheet it will move on to the Board of Supervisors for review and concurrence by the Board.

At the Port Commission Executive Session (2pm – Closed Session) they will discuss the lawsuit filed by “The Neighbors to Preserve the Waterfront”.  FOGG will not be privy to their discussions, but we should receive a good indication when Item 10A comes up for action.

FOGG looks forward to a good turnout for the Port Commission meeting on Tuesday, September 14.

Thanks for all your support.
