Your donations are greatly appreciated.  Your support this year kept us on the offensive in our effort to preserve our Community’s open recreational space.  It has been exceptional, and we are sure it has given the developer pause as to why he is not succeeding in spite of all the money he has spent.

There is still time for him to gracefully take his luxury condominium and underground parking garage plan off the table, and look to other venues for a project that would fit his needs and can be supported by the community.

We encourage Mr. Snellgrove to find a more feasible location that would not destroy what was designed to be a permanent part of the Golden Gateway development over 50 years ago.  Thousands of families, youth, retirees and individual members throughout the Bay Area have enjoyed our beautiful recreational facility.  We are all aware of how important it is to our quality of life.

FOGG knows that no one individual could accomplish what we have done.  We have been fighting to preserve our open recreational space since 2003.  Our volunteers, attorneys and consultants work with conviction toward our just cause.

Now, with the partnership of our Coalition of community organizations we are about to release the comprehensive Plan for the Northeast Waterfront created by the Asian Neighborhood Design (AND) group.

FOGG recognizes that many individual members of the Telegraph Hill Dwellers (THD), Barbary Coast Neighborhood Association (BCNA), and the Golden Gateway Tenants Association (GGTA) have been supporting our efforts over these many years.  Now we are part of a cohesive group focusing on providing a dynamic Plan to improve and protect our neighborhood’s character, building scale and open space.

Once the four Coalition organizations approve the Plan it will be available at the FOGG website for all to review.  A print copy can be provided at the cost of printing and mailing.  We will let you know when the Plan is available for viewing.

Once again – it has been a great and positive 2010, thanks to our thousands of friends and supporters.

FOGG offers our best wishes for a Happy Holiday Season and a Healthy and Happy New Year!
