FOGG Open Letter – April 8, 2012

THANK YOU TO OUR SUPPORTERS!

Many of you may have read former Mayor Art Agnos’ Open Forum article in the April 5, 2012 SF Chronicle.  The title is “We tore down the Embarcadero Freeway for this?  For those who many have missed it you can read it at this this link.  Article

FOGG wishes to sincerely thank former Mayor Agnos for his insightful and most accurate article on why we don’t need more luxury high rise condominiums for the super wealthiest people in the world.  These condominiums are 80 feet higher than the now gone Embarcadero freeway that Mr. Agnos was instrumental in taking down.

He also points out that the high density and bulk of the buildings would be a barrier to our neighbors from Chinatown and elsewhere in San Francisco.  We don’t need a gated community that makes Washington & Drumm Streets a “Wall of Wealth.”

We must also thank HELP Advertising and its staff for their support in providing FOGG with printed flyers, badges and expertise.  HELP is giving FOGG new ways to increase awareness about our efforts to save the City’s only outdoor recreational center with 9 tennis courts and 2 swimming pools.

It is this kind of volunteer participation by so many individuals that provides support to our professionals; attorney Sue Hestor and consultant and Brad Paul.  This is the teamwork that makes FOGG’S efforts continue.

Your tax deductible dollars really pay off.  We really appreciate those of you who have made a recent contribution.  For those who have not yet made one this year, please do it now.  You will be helping us continue our work to save our outdoor recreational center.

Please send your tax deductible donation to Friends of Golden Gateway, P.O. Box 2294, San Francisco, CA 94126.  Please make your checks out to PDF/FOGG, and on the memo line write “tax deductible donation”.

Or you can donate online by clicking on the Donations to FOGG link on this website.

We thank you all again and know that with your support we will succeed.
