Today’s Land Use & Economic Development Committee Meeting on Supervisor Fiona Ma’s Resolution on Preserving Recreational Space (File #061493)

FOGG is very pleased with the turnout and testimony by our members and, the supporters of the San Francisco Tennis Club today.  It was truly a large and representative group.  The testimony by all those who talked was to the point and succinct.  It made a very positive impression on Supervisors Sophie Maxwell, Gerardo Sandoval and Jake McGoldrick.

What the Club Means to Me

Friday, November 10th, 2006

We have received many responses to our November 1st Open Letter, and want to share some of them with our supporters.

I have been a member of Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim (GGTSC) since moving to San Francisco ten years ago.  I have used it regularly both to swim and to play tennis over the years.  Additionally, my children have taken tennis lessons there and gone to summer camp as well.

Open Letter – November 1, 2006

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

Friends of Golden Gateway (FOGG) wishes to alert you that Supervisor Fiona Ma (District 4) has introduced an important resolution that could affect positively the future of our open recreational space!

Supervisor Ma’s resolution is titled “Interim Zoning Conditional Use Authorization for Change in Use or Reduction of 5000 square feet or more of Recreational Space.” This resolution could shield recreational space such as the Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim Club and the San Francisco Tennis Club from pressures of development, until more permanent rules are developed and adopted.

Open Letter October 15,2006

Monday, October 16th, 2006

FOGG appreciates those who made the effort and took the time to attend Mr. Simon Snellgrove’s latest presentation on Tuesday, October 10. We thank those who spoke and refuted a number of Mr. Snellgrove’s “facts”: Numerous people called Mr. Snellgrove to task for a number of his misrepresentations. We also appreciate the people who, after hearing the proposal, have joined the FOGG team. Welcome aboard!
